EPFO to expand PM-VBRY rollout with grassroots engagement strategy
The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation is planning a district-level mobilisation drive and industry collaboration to accelerate the rollout of the Prime Minister's Voluntary Retirement Scheme. The initiative will provide states with real-time data access and tap employer feedback on skill development priorities.

The EPFO is preparing to intensify its outreach efforts for the PM-VBRY programme by establishing district-level workshops and strengthening coordination with state authorities. The move aims to improve awareness and uptake of the voluntary retirement scheme among eligible workers across the country.
A cornerstone of the strategy involves granting states real-time access to relevant programme data, enabling them to monitor implementation and tailor promotional activities to local requirements. This enhanced transparency is expected to facilitate faster decision-making and better coordination between central and state-level administrators.
The organisation is also moving to align the scheme with industry needs by incorporating employer inputs on skill development and short-term training programmes. This collaboration seeks to ensure that workers transitioning under PM-VBRY can access upskilling opportunities matched to labour market demands and employment trends.
The district-level workshops will serve as platforms for direct engagement with workers, employers, and local administrators, addressing queries and building understanding of scheme benefits. By decentralising the rollout process, the EPFO aims to overcome implementation bottlenecks and ensure broader geographical coverage.
