Escaped Tennessee inmate recaptured after week-long manhunt

Jacob Allen Morley, an inmate serving a life sentence for murder, was apprehended by law enforcement after escaping from a Tennessee prison. Morley had scaled a fence at the facility to make his escape, triggering an immediate search operation by authorities.

The week-long manhunt concluded with Morley's recapture, ending concerns about the convicted killer remaining at large in the region. Details surrounding the specific circumstances of his apprehension have not been fully disclosed by prison officials.

The escape underscored security vulnerabilities at the facility and raised questions about perimeter controls. State corrections authorities are expected to conduct a review of the incident to determine how the breach occurred and implement measures to prevent similar escapes in the future.

Morley's case is among several high-profile prison escapes that have drawn scrutiny to security protocols across Tennessee's correctional system. He has been returned to custody pending a formal investigation into the circumstances of his brief flight.
