EU leader pushes for unified security body amid Moscow tensions

European Union leadership has moved to establish a dedicated security mechanism to address coordinated interference operations attributed to Moscow, according to statements made by the bloc's chief official.

The initiative reflects growing concerns across EU member states about what officials characterise as hybrid attacks—including disinformation campaigns, cyberattacks, and sabotage operations—designed to weaken support for Ukraine among European populations.
