Ex-aide to former minister arrested in corruption probe
The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has arrested a development officer from the Uva Provincial Council who previously served as private secretary to former State Minister Chamara Sampath Dassanayake.

The arrest was executed by CIABOC officials on September 21 at approximately 4:55 p.m. The suspect, employed as a development officer within the provincial council administration, had held the position of private secretary to Dassanayake during his tenure as State Minister of Primary Industries.
The commission's action marks the latest development in an ongoing investigation into allegations of impropriety involving former ministerial staff. CIABOC has intensified scrutiny of officials who served in administrative capacities to senior government figures in recent months.
