MANILA — Approximately two dozen former security aides to ex-Ako Bicol Representative Elizaldy Co have refuted accusations made by 18 of their former colleagues, denying any involvement in alleged deliveries of cash-filled suitcases to former Speaker Martin Romualdez.

According to reports, the 25 men claimed they were approached by lawyer Levito Baligod and asked to support the allegations made by the 18 security personnel. The disputed group maintains they had no participation in any such transactions.

The allegations form part of ongoing investigations into alleged cash transfers linked to Romualdez. The conflicting accounts from Co's former security team have added complexity to the inquiry, with the competing narratives raising questions about the credibility and circumstances surrounding the original accusations.

Neither Co nor Romualdez have issued immediate responses to the latest developments. The matter remains under investigation as authorities work to establish the veracity of claims made by both groups of former security personnel.
