Ex-Thodupuzha Mayor Alleges Police Framing in Drug Arrest

George, the former chairman of Thodupuzha municipality, has leveled accusations against police officers, asserting he was framed in a drug-related case. According to George's version of events, while police recovered drug paraphernalia from his two-wheeler during a search, no MDMA or other narcotics were actually discovered in his possession.

George has alleged that certain officers with purported links to the Communist Party of India (Marxist) targeted him due to his political affiliation. He claimed the arrest was motivated by factional interests rather than genuine criminal investigation, raising concerns about the impartiality of the police action.

However, the Idukki District Police Chief has dismissed George's allegations as baseless. The senior officer maintained that the arrest was founded on solid video evidence and was conducted in accordance with standard investigative procedures. Police have stood by their action, suggesting that the charges are substantive and properly documented.
