F1 to maintain Malaysian software fix for Singapore wet weather
Formula One will continue using the power unit software adjustment introduced at Sepang if wet conditions emerge during this weekend's Singapore Grand Prix, the sport's governing body has confirmed.

The International Automobile Federation said it will keep the same software configuration in place for the Marina Bay street circuit if rain affects the race, following its rapid deployment in Malaysia last month.
The fix was hastily implemented during the Malaysian Grand Prix to address technical concerns with power unit performance. Rather than reverting to previous settings, officials determined that maintaining consistency with the Sepang adjustment would provide teams with optimal reliability and predictability across varying weather conditions.
The decision reflects F1's commitment to ensuring fair competition and mechanical stability as the season progresses through Southeast Asia. Teams have had adequate time to familiarize themselves with the software parameters since Malaysia, allowing for seamless application should wet conditions materialise at the challenging night race in Singapore.
Race officials will continue to monitor weather forecasts ahead of the weekend, with contingency protocols in place should conditions require additional adjustments. The confirmation provides teams with certainty as they prepare their power unit configurations for the technical demands of Singapore's demanding 23-lap circuit.
