Fact-checking website challenges accuracy of Rahul Gandhi's student campaign statements
A newly launched fact-checking website has contested the veracity of statements made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during his recent student outreach events, claiming a majority of his remarks were either false or misleading.

A fact-checking website titled 'Jhooth Ki Goonj' has scrutinised claims made by Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi across four student engagement events, alleging substantial inaccuracies in his public statements.
According to the website's analysis, of the 40 statements delivered by Gandhi at these events, 29 were categorised as false while 11 were marked as misleading. The remaining statements were apparently assessed as accurate or contextually valid.
The initiative reflects the growing trend of third-party fact-checking platforms monitoring political discourse across India. Such websites typically employ researchers to cross-reference public statements against official data, news reports, and other verifiable sources.
Gandhi has been actively engaged in campus outreach programmes as part of the Congress party's broader engagement strategy with younger voters. The fact-checking exercise underscores the intensified scrutiny political figures face regarding the accuracy of their campaign messaging.
The Congress party has not yet issued a formal response to the fact-checking website's findings. Similar fact-checking initiatives have gained prominence in recent years as part of efforts to promote transparency in political communication.
