Fadnavis accuses Rahul Gandhi of undermining constitutional institutions

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday, accusing him and the opposition of pursuing a deliberate strategy to undermine public faith in constitutional institutions.

Fadnavis said the opposition's approach amounted to confusing the electorate when they could not convince them through substantive arguments. He pointed to what he characterized as a pattern of selective acceptance of institutional decisions based on electoral outcomes.

According to the Chief Minister, opposition parties readily accepted verdicts from the Election Commission of India when electoral results favored them, but questioned the same institution's credibility following electoral defeats. Fadnavis did not specify particular instances but suggested this represented a broader pattern of institutional skepticism among opposition parties.

The remarks come amid ongoing political tensions between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress-led opposition in Maharashtra and nationally.
