MANILA — Most areas of the Philippines will experience fair weather conditions on Sunday, with only scattered rain expected in isolated locations, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its 5 a.m. forecast.
The southwest monsoon, locally known as the habagat, will dominate weather patterns over the western portions of Luzon, bringing moisture-laden winds and increased rainfall to the region. Residents in affected areas should remain prepared for wet conditions throughout the day.
The remainder of the country, including central and eastern portions of the archipelago, is anticipated to remain largely dry with partly cloudy to sunny skies. Light to moderate winds are expected across most areas, with generally calm to moderate sea conditions.
Meteorology officials advised residents of western Luzon to monitor updates as the monsoon system develops throughout the day. The fair weather expected in other regions makes Sunday suitable for outdoor activities, though residents are urged to stay informed of any weather developments that could affect their areas.
