FAM integrity committee deputy chair post rejected due to time constraints

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) said on Tuesday that the director-general of the Anti-Corruption and Integrity Commission (AKPS), Shuhaily, has declined an offer to serve as deputy chairperson of FAM's integrity committee.

FAM attributed the rejection to Shuhaily's existing commitments and workload at AKPS, which would have prevented him from effectively fulfilling the role's demands.

The integrity committee position was part of FAM's governance restructuring initiatives aimed at strengthening institutional oversight and compliance within Malaysian football administration.

FAM officials indicated they would pursue alternative candidates for the deputy chairperson position as they continue efforts to reinforce the integrity framework across the federation's operations.
