PUERTO PRINCESA CITY — Families of passengers aboard the sunken MV June Aster are steeling themselves for tragic news, with relatives saying they would accept confirmation of their loved ones' deaths over continued uncertainty.
Rossana Caabay-Indic was being transported to Manila for medical treatment when the vessel encountered difficulties. Her remains were believed to be aboard the ferry along with her husband, Benjamin Indic, and their youngest daughter, Joanna, 28, who was pregnant.
According to Rossana's brother, Ruel Caabay, the family had been waiting for official confirmation regarding her condition and whereabouts. The emotional toll of not knowing has prompted relatives to openly acknowledge they are preparing for the worst-case scenario.
"We just want confirmation," family members have expressed, highlighting the anguish faced by those awaiting news of missing passengers. Authorities continue recovery and identification efforts as the investigation into the incident progresses.
