COTABATO CITY — A 45-year-old farmer was fatally shot in Maguindanao del Sur, marking another violent incident despite a comprehensive gun ban implemented across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) ahead of September 14 parliamentary elections.
The victim, Ebrahim Kalotig Timbao, was a resident of Datu Bakal in Shariff Saydona Mustapha municipality. Details surrounding the circumstances of his death remained unclear as authorities continued their investigation.
