A domestic dispute in Kanpur Dehat district has turned fatal after a young man succumbed to injuries allegedly inflicted by his father. According to police reports, the incident occurred when the accused father returned home at night and attacked his sleeping son with a brick while the youth lay on a traditional cot.
The 23-year-old victim sustained critical head injuries in the assault. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Kanpur for emergency treatment, where doctors admitted him with severe trauma.
The young man's condition deteriorated during his hospital stay, and he died on Wednesday. Medical staff at the facility confirmed the death while treatment was ongoing.
Police have registered a case against the father based on allegations that the attack stemmed from a prior disagreement involving money and substance abuse within the household. Authorities are currently searching for the accused, who fled the area following the incident.
