Father and son die as dilapidated building collapses in Delhi

Two members of the same family lost their lives after an aging building gave way in the Harsh Vihar area of Northeast Delhi. The structure's collapse occurred during the night, trapping the occupants beneath extensive debris.

Rescue teams responded to the incident and worked through the overnight hours to extract the trapped individuals. The father and son were pulled from beneath the rubble and transported to GTB Hospital for emergency treatment.

Despite swift rescue efforts, medical personnel at the hospital pronounced both men dead upon arrival. The exact cause of the building's structural failure and the identities of the deceased have not yet been disclosed.

Old and poorly maintained residential structures continue to pose significant safety risks across Delhi and other major Indian cities. Building collapses remain a recurring hazard, particularly in areas where aging constructions lack regular maintenance and structural inspection.
