Father of alleged drug trafficker remanded in custody
Abdul Razak Mohamed Basik, the father of suspected large-scale drug trafficker Shiran Basik, has been remanded by a Colombo magistrate. The elder Basik was ordered held in custody pending further investigation into the case.

Abdul Razak Mohamed Basik was produced before Colombo Aluthkade No. 3 Magistrate's Court on charges related to his son's alleged drug trafficking operations. The magistrate ordered that he be remanded in custody until 25th as the investigation progresses.
Shiran Basik, his son, is alleged to be involved in large-scale drug trafficking and was reportedly brought to Sri Lanka from Dubai. The case has drawn attention to international drug smuggling networks operating in the region.
