FATHI pushes for additional ICET counselling round to accommodate candidates

The Federation of Andhra Pradesh Teachers' Associations (FATHI) has appealed for an additional round of counselling for the Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET), citing the need to provide more opportunities for qualified candidates seeking admission to postgraduate programmes across the state.

The request comes as educational stakeholders seek to streamline the admission process for MBA and MCA courses. FATHI representatives have argued that an extra counselling session would help accommodate students who may have missed earlier rounds or wish to reconsider their course selections in light of changing circumstances.

Officials have indicated that the additional counselling round could help address capacity issues at various institutions and ensure broader access to postgraduate education across Andhra Pradesh. The proposal is expected to be reviewed by relevant state education authorities in the coming weeks.
