KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 — The remains of five victims killed in the Flying Doctor Service (FDS) helicopter crash have been positively identified through DNA analysis and returned to their respective families, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin announced on Monday.
The minister said the identification process, which involved comprehensive DNA testing, has been concluded, enabling the next of kin to make arrangements for funeral rites according to their respective customs and beliefs.
The FDS helicopter, which operates emergency medical evacuation services across Malaysia, crashed earlier this month. The incident prompted a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The return of the identified remains marks a significant milestone for the families of the victims, who can now proceed with their grieving process and final funeral arrangements.
