Federal Court upholds nullification of elderly woman's 2011 will
Malaysia's apex court has dismissed appeals challenging the voiding of a 2011 will, paving the way for an earlier testamentary document to proceed through probate. The decision leaves Amanah Raya Bhd and a named beneficiary without further legal recourse.

The Federal Court has upheld an earlier judgment that invalidated a 2011 will executed by an elderly woman, rejecting appeals filed by the corporate trustee Amanah Raya Bhd and a sole beneficiary named in the disputed document.
The court's dismissal of the appeals removes legal obstacles to the probate of an earlier will, allowing the estate to be administered according to the preceding testamentary wishes.
The case centred on the validity of the 2011 will, with the lower courts having previously determined that it should be voided. Both Amanah Raya Bhd and the beneficiary sought to overturn that ruling through the appellate process, but the Federal Court found no grounds to intervene.
With the apex court's decision now final, executors and administrators can proceed with settling the estate using the earlier will as the governing document. The outcome resolves a lengthy legal dispute that had kept the succession matter in limbo.
