FEI to restore Russian equestrian participation from October

Russia's equestrian federation announced Wednesday that the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) will rescind its ban on Russian athletes and officials effective October 5. The lifting of sanctions will also enable Russia to host international equestrian competitions once again. The federation's statement marked a significant development in the sport's efforts to normalise relations following the earlier suspension of Russian participation at the global level. FEI had previously imposed restrictions on Russian involvement in international equestrian activities. The restoration of Russian athletes' eligibility and the country's hosting privileges represents a shift in the federation's stance toward re-integrating the nation into mainstream equestrian competition. The move aligns with efforts across various sports to address suspension policies implemented in recent years.
