Felda taskforce to present findings to PM before month's end

The special taskforce examining the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) is on track to complete its review and present recommendations to the Prime Minister before month-end, according to sources familiar with the initiative.
The panel brings together senior policy figures and economic specialists to assess the statutory body's operations and strategic direction. Members include Ahmad Fuad Ali, executive chairman of the Federal Veterinary Services Board; economist Nungsari Ahmad Radhi; and Nurhisham Hussein, a former official at the Employees Provident Fund.
The composition of the panel underscores the government's emphasis on drawing expertise from both the public and private sectors for the review. The taskforce's mandate encompasses a comprehensive examination of Felda's current challenges and future viability as a key institution in Malaysia's agricultural and rural development landscape.
The submission of the report at month-end is expected to pave the way for policy decisions on the authority's restructuring and operational improvements. Government officials have indicated that the recommendations will inform subsequent action on strengthening Felda's role in supporting smallholder farmers and rural communities.
