Ferrari chief Vasseur irritated by speculation over leadership future

BAKU — Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur said he found the constant speculation about his future tiresome, following remarks by Christian Horner that have reignited discussion about possible leadership changes at the Italian team.

Horner, who stepped down from his role at Red Bull earlier this year, made comments in a recent interview that fuelled suggestions he could be heading to Maranello. The speculation has intensified amid reports about potential restructuring within Ferrari's management.

Vasseur, who has led the Scuderia since January 2021, indicated he preferred to focus on his current responsibilities rather than engage with rumours about his position. The 55-year-old French-Swiss executive has overseen the team's gradual improvement in recent seasons, with Ferrari's 2024 campaign showing competitive progress.

The comments come amid Ferrari's continued push to challenge Mercedes and McLaren for championship honours, as the Italian marque seeks to end its long wait for a constructors' title. Vasseur's remarks suggest he intends to remain focused on delivering results on track rather than addressing speculation about personnel matters.
