Ferrer to join Ruud's coaching team ahead of 2027 season

Casper Ruud revealed the coaching addition after falling to Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals of the Paris Masters on November 8. The Norwegian's announcement signals a strategic move to strengthen his technical and tactical preparation ahead of the 2027 campaign.

Ferrer, who reached a career-high ranking of world number three, brings decades of professional tennis experience to the role. The 37-year-old retired from professional play in 2018 after establishing himself as one of Spain's most accomplished players and a consistent competitor on the ATP Tour.

Ruud, currently ranked among the world's top players, has been working to refine his approach following several major tournament appearances in recent seasons. The addition of Ferrer to his coaching team represents an investment in learning from one of the game's most technically proficient players, particularly on clay courts where both have found considerable success.

The partnership will commence ahead of the 2027 season, giving Ruud and his expanded coaching staff time to develop their collaborative strategy during the off-season preparations.
