The National Crime Investigation Department (NCID) has linked a Filipino national to the charter of a private jet seized in connection with a significant drug operation in Laos, according to Bukit Aman NCID director Hussein Omar Khan.
The booking was made for a flight originating from Laos with Manila listed as the destination, police said. The cargo aboard the aircraft had been declared as vape products, masking its true contents.
The seizure represents part of ongoing efforts by regional law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking networks operating across Southeast Asia. The involvement of a private jet and cross-border flight route underscores the sophisticated methods employed by smuggling operations in the region.
Police investigations into the matter are continuing as authorities work to identify additional individuals connected to the operation and determine the full scope of the trafficking network.
