Finnish Space Intelligence Firm Opens Delhi Office for Border Surveillance

ICEYE, a Finnish space intelligence firm, has launched ICEYE India in New Delhi as it expands operations across South Asia. The new office will serve India's defence and security agencies with space-based surveillance solutions tailored to regional requirements.

The company's primary focus will be providing satellite imagery and monitoring services for border security operations. Particular emphasis has been placed on surveillance capabilities for India's frontiers, including the sensitive Line of Actual Control shared with China, according to officials briefed on the expansion.

ICEYE operates a constellation of synthetic aperture radar satellites capable of penetrating cloud cover and providing round-the-clock earth observation data. The technology is increasingly sought by nations seeking to enhance border security and situational awareness.

The company has signalled plans to build indigenous capabilities in India, potentially including partnerships with domestic entities to strengthen the country's space-based intelligence infrastructure. Industry analysts view the move as part of a broader trend of international space technology firms establishing regional hubs to serve growing demand from Asian defence establishments.
