The fire erupted in the early hours of Saturday at a retail chain store located near Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce in Kuching. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and worked to contain the blaze, which had engulfed the first floor by the time firefighting operations commenced.

Authorities confirmed that the fire caused extensive damage to the first-floor section of the retail outlet. The quick response by fire brigades helped prevent the flames from spreading to upper levels of the structure, though the lower level sustained substantial losses.

Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fire. The Kuching Fire and Rescue Department is expected to release further details following a preliminary assessment of the damaged premises. The retail chain has not issued a statement regarding business continuity or the extent of financial losses incurred.
