Fire in Baguio displaces 14 families, injures three residents

The fire broke out at approximately 8:28 am in the New Lucban Extension area, rapidly spreading through several residential units and commercial establishments before firefighters brought it under control. According to Baguio City Fire Marshall F/Supt. Mark Anthony Dangatan, the blaze resulted in three injuries among residents attempting to evacuate or extinguish the flames.

The incident displaced a total of 56 individuals from 14 families in the densely populated residential area. Authorities did not immediately specify the extent of property damage or the cause of the fire. The evacuation and response efforts were ongoing as fire officials investigated the circumstances surrounding the outbreak.

New Lucban Extension has experienced previous fire incidents, reflecting the challenges faced by informal settlements and densely constructed residential areas in the upland city.
