Firefly extends Seletar-Subang flight cancellations through mid-October

Firefly Airlines has expanded the scope of flight cancellations on its Seletar-Subang service, extending disruptions to October 16 as unfavourable meteorological conditions and transboundary haze persist across the region.

The airline initially suspended operations on the route connecting Kuala Lumpur's Subang Airport and Singapore's Seletar Airport from October 10 to October 14. The extended cancellation period reflects ongoing concerns about visibility and safety conditions along the corridor.

The measure underscores the seasonal challenges faced by regional carriers during the dry season, when transboundary haze from forest fires in Indonesia frequently affects air traffic operations across Malaysia and Singapore. Airlines routinely implement cancellations and rerouting measures when visibility drops below safe operating thresholds.

Passengers affected by the cancellations have been advised to contact Firefly directly for rebooking options and alternative travel arrangements. The airline has not indicated whether further extensions may be necessary beyond October 16, with operations dependent on meteorological improvements.
