Fisherman rescued after week missing off Quezon coast

LUCENA CITY — Authorities in Quezon have confirmed the rescue of a fisherman who went missing during a fishing expedition on October 29 off Infanta. The man was discovered Saturday morning in waters near Barangay Cagsiay III in Mauban, more than a week after his disappearance. Mauban Mayor Erwin Pastrana announced the successful rescue through a social media post, noting that local residents immediately provided assistance to the fisherman upon his discovery. The circumstances surrounding the fisherman's prolonged time at sea and his condition upon rescue were not immediately disclosed.
