Five arrested over counterfeit gold bracelet pawn shop scheme
Police have detained five individuals in connection with an alleged fraud involving a fake gold bracelet valued at approximately RM13,000. The suspect reportedly pawned the counterfeit item at a licensed pawn shop.

A pawn shop manager filed a complaint with police after discovering that a gold bracelet weighing 23 grams, which had been pledged as collateral, was counterfeit rather than genuine gold.
The bracelet was estimated to be worth RM13,000 based on prevailing market rates for precious metals. However, upon inspection, authorities determined the item did not meet authenticity standards for gold of its purported weight and purity.
Police initiated an investigation following the pawn shop operator's report and subsequently apprehended five individuals suspected of involvement in the scheme.
