Five convicted in 2015 Maoist attack on police personnel

A court has convicted five accused in connection with a 2015 Maoist attack that targeted police personnel, imposing differentiated sentences based on their roles in the banned organization. Prabhakar, identified as a Special Zonal Committee Member of the Maoist group, and his wife Raje Kange, who held the position of Divisional Committee Member, were each sentenced to seven years imprisonment.

Three other co-accused—Ramesh Kumar Kumeti, Shyam Nath Usendi, and Chintu Ram Tamrakar—received five-year sentences each.
