Five injured as swing collapses during festival in Lucknow

A swing structure failed during the Sawan festival celebrations in Indira Nagar, Lucknow, causing multiple injuries on Tuesday. The bucket seat of the swing detached and fell suddenly while in use, striking those nearby.

Among the injured were three siblings—Ankita Singh and her brother Surya and sister Nancy—who were using the swing at the time of the incident. Two additional people were also hurt in the mishap. All five victims sustained injuries from the collapse.

Local authorities responded to the incident, and the injured were transported to nearby Sushma Hospital for medical treatment. Details regarding the severity of injuries and the condition of the victims were not immediately disclosed.

The incident has raised concerns about safety standards for temporary structures and recreational equipment set up during seasonal festivals and celebrations in the city.
