Five Israeli Civilians To Receive Awards For Subduing Pilot

Israeli President Isaac Herzog's office has announced that five civilians will receive official commendations for their actions in restraining a flydubai co-pilot. The Presidential office initially named four award winners before expanding the list to include Tali Manes, whose spouse was among those originally recognized.

The incident, which took place on a flydubai aircraft, saw the group of passengers act to subdue the co-pilot. Details regarding the specific circumstances of the incident and the exact nature of the threat were not disclosed in the official announcement.

The decision to expand the award list to include Manes came after the initial announcement, reflecting the contributions of all those involved in the incident. Such commendations represent formal recognition by the Israeli state for acts of courage or public service.
