Five states to resume classes tomorrow as haze readings ease below closure threshold

Educational institutions in five states are set to resume operations tomorrow after air quality conditions improved sufficiently to permit normal classroom activities. The decision comes as the Air Pollutant Index readings in the affected regions dropped below the critical threshold that would necessitate closures.

The Ministry of Education had previously announced a standardised closure protocol, specifying that schools nationwide would shut when the API reaches 200. This measure was implemented to protect students and staff from the health risks associated with hazardous air quality.

The reopening of schools in these five states reflects a moderation in haze conditions affecting the region. Parents and educators have been advised to monitor air quality updates, particularly in areas where readings remain close to advisory levels.

Students are expected to return to regular timetables and activities tomorrow. Educational officials have not indicated any disruptions to curriculum schedules or examination calendars resulting from the temporary closures.
