Flood evacuations continue across Perak and Penang

Approximately 400 flood victims from 147 families are currently housed at four relief centres established across Perak, according to state disaster management officials. The evacuations reflect the ongoing impact of seasonal flooding that has affected communities throughout the northern region.

In Seberang Perai, Penang, a further 37 displaced residents have been provided temporary shelter at SK Seri Penanti school. Authorities continue to monitor water levels and coordinate relief operations to ensure the safety of affected communities.

State emergency services have mobilized resources to manage the crisis, with relief centres equipped to provide essential supplies and medical assistance to evacuees. The number of displaced persons underscores the vulnerability of low-lying areas to seasonal weather patterns in the region.

Relief operations remain active as authorities assess infrastructure damage and determine when residents can safely return to their homes. Officials have urged residents in flood-prone areas to remain vigilant and follow evacuation orders when issued.
