The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) concluded a comprehensive inspection campaign that examined over 56,400 food establishments between September 1 and November 5. The enforcement action resulted in the seizure of numerous non-compliant food products including paneer, ghee, and other dairy items that violated food safety standards or contained prohibited substances.

The regulator's nationwide drive represents one of the largest food safety operations in recent months, reflecting heightened scrutiny of production and distribution practices across India's food sector. The confiscated items were deemed unsafe for human consumption or failed to meet the authority's stringent quality and labeling requirements.

The FSSAI action underscores the regulatory body's commitment to protecting consumers from substandard food products that may pose health risks. The campaign targeted establishments across multiple states, indicating widespread non-compliance issues in both organized and unorganized food sectors.

Official records indicate that the enforcement drive identified systematic violations at food manufacturing units, processors, and distribution centers. The seized inventory will be disposed of according to established protocols, and regulatory proceedings against non-compliant operators are expected to follow.
