Foreign Minister Herath to head Sri Lanka's CICA Summit delegation

Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath has been appointed to head Sri Lanka's official delegation to the 7th CICA Summit, which will convene in Azerbaijan in the coming period.

The Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia is a significant multilateral platform that brings together nations across the Asian region to promote dialogue, cooperation, and regional stability through confidence-building initiatives.

Sri Lanka's participation in the summit underscores the island nation's commitment to engaging with regional mechanisms aimed at fostering greater understanding and cooperation among Asian states. The delegation's attendance at the high-level gathering will provide an opportunity for Sri Lanka to contribute to discussions on pressing regional and international issues.

As head of the foreign ministry, Herath's leadership of the delegation reflects Sri Lanka's prioritisation of its diplomatic engagement in the Asian region and its role in multilateral forums addressing regional security and cooperation matters.
