Foreign witnesses to testify via video link in Shraddha Walker murder case

The Saket Court in New Delhi has granted permission for four technology company representatives stationed abroad to depose via video conference in the Shraddha Walker murder investigation, a significant development in the widely-followed criminal case.

Officials from WhatsApp, Google, Gmail and Bumble—all based in the US and UK—will provide testimony through the remote conferencing arrangement. The court's decision facilitates the examination of digital evidence and communications records that are central to the prosecution's case.

According to court proceedings, the recorded statements from the foreign witnesses will commence on December 1, 2026. The video conferencing arrangement allows the court to obtain testimony from key digital platform representatives without requiring their physical presence in India, streamlining the examination of technical and data-related evidence.

The Shraddha Walker case has drawn substantial public attention since the initial investigation began. The testimony from technology company officials is expected to provide crucial insights into digital communications and user data that may be relevant to establishing facts in the homicide inquiry.

The trial continues to progress through various procedural stages as the court systematically examines evidence and witness statements to build a comprehensive case record.
