Former aide's identity misused in Chhattisgarh PSC exam fraud: ED

The Enforcement Directorate's investigation into the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) examination fraud has revealed that relatives of accused persons leveraged the identity of a former aide to a previous state administration to gain influence over candidates, officials said on Thursday.

According to central agency findings, the conspiracy operated as a paid-for operation wherein question papers from CGPSC examinations were illegally leaked to family members of the accused and to select candidates in exchange for substantial sums of money. The scheme appears designed to provide unfair advantages to particular individuals sitting for the competitive civil service tests.

The misuse of the former official's name, though he was not directly implicated in the fraud, suggests the accused sought to exploit perceived connections to leverage credibility with candidates and their families. The ED's ongoing investigation continues to uncover the scale and network of individuals involved in the examination fraud.

The CGPSC conducts competitive examinations for recruitment to various state civil service positions. The disclosure of the examination fraud has raised serious questions about the integrity of the recruitment process and the safeguarding of sensitive examination materials within state administrative bodies.
