Former Attorney-General Was Summoned to Tabung Haji Inquiry, RCI Member Says
A member of the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Tabung Haji has disputed claims that former Attorney-General Madinah Mohamad was never called to testify, stating she had requested to appear alongside another officer.

Rashid Hussain, a member of the Tabung Haji Royal Commission of Inquiry, has clarified that former Attorney-General Madinah Mohamad was indeed subpoenaed to give evidence before the panel, contrary to suggestions that she had not been summoned.
Hussain said Mohamad had requested permission to appear with another officer during her testimony before the RCI. The clarification addresses previous reports questioning whether the former top legal officer had been called to testify in the inquiry into the pilgrimage fund's affairs.
The Tabung Haji RCI was established to investigate allegations of financial mismanagement and governance issues at the Islamic pilgrimage fund, which manages savings for Malaysian Muslims performing the Hajj. The inquiry has heard from numerous witnesses and stakeholders in recent months.
The RCI member's statement underscores the ongoing scrutiny of Tabung Haji's operations and the involvement of high-ranking government officials in the investigation. Mohamad's role and decisions relating to the fund during her tenure as Attorney-General have been subject to examination by the inquiry.
