Former auditor-general subpoenaed in 1MDB inquiry, says RCI member
A member of the royal commission of inquiry into the 1MDB scandal has disclosed that the former auditor-general has been served with a subpoena. The official had sought to appear alongside other witnesses but was denied permission to do so.

Rashid Hussain, a member of the royal commission of inquiry into 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), revealed that Madinah Mohamad, the former auditor-general, has been subpoenaed to testify in the proceedings.
According to Hussain, Mohamad had requested to attend the inquiry jointly with other officials involved in the matter. However, the request was rejected, according to the RCI member's account.
The disclosure adds another significant development to the ongoing investigation into the troubled sovereign wealth fund, which has become the subject of multiple inquiries and prosecutions across several jurisdictions.
