COTABATO CITY — Former members of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliament have formally organized themselves into a new collective, pledging to assist in the establishment and development of the region's institutional framework despite their departure from the legislature.
The ex-lawmakers announced the formation of the group as a platform through which they could continue contributing to BARMM's advancement. Their initiative reflects a determination to maintain involvement in the region's political and administrative trajectory as it navigates the transition toward a more mature governance structure.
The group's emergence comes as the autonomous region continues efforts to consolidate its institutions and build sustainable administrative capacity. Former MPs have signaled they possess valuable insights from their parliamentary tenure that could benefit ongoing institutional development efforts.
Members of the organization indicated they intend to work constructively with current regional authorities to ensure continuity in policymaking and institutional growth. The move underscores the continued engagement of experienced legislators in BARMM affairs, even after their terms in the regional parliament have concluded.
