The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Delhi arrested six persons on Tuesday in connection with an investigation into tender irregularities related to sewage treatment plant (STP) projects, according to an official statement. Among those detained is Satyendar Jain, who previously served as Delhi's Water Resources Minister. The former chief executive officer of Delhi Jal Board (DJB), the city's primary water utility, was also arrested as part of the operation. The remaining four accused include Ankit Srivastava, identified as a former contractual consultant with the DJB, and three private individuals identified as Nagendra Yadav, Raja Kumar Kurra, and Pankaj Verma. The ACB statement did not provide additional details regarding the specific allegations or the nature of the irregularities being investigated. The arrests mark an expansion of the inquiry into governance practices within Delhi's water infrastructure projects and contractual procedures. Investigators are examining whether proper protocols were followed in the tendering process and whether any individuals exploited official positions to benefit particular bidders or contractors.
