Former Felda chief held for questioning in Kuala Lumpur property probe
An ex-general manager of the Federal Land Development Authority has been remanded for five days as Malaysian anti-corruption authorities investigate a contentious Kuala Lumpur land transaction.

PUTRAJAYA — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has secured a five-day remand order for a former Felda general manager as part of an ongoing investigation into a land deal involving property in the federal capital.
The suspect was presented before a magistrate in Putrajaya on Saturday, where the remand extension was granted to enable MACC officers to conduct detailed questioning and gather additional evidence related to the transaction.
The inquiry centres on allegations of impropriety in the handling of Felda assets and potential misconduct in the disposal or management of the Kuala Lumpur property. MACC investigators are examining whether proper procedures and transparency standards were followed throughout the transaction process.
The development comes amid increased scrutiny of large state-linked enterprises and their commercial dealings. Felda, one of Malaysia's oldest and largest federal agencies, manages vast agricultural holdings and developmental projects across the country.
The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities expected to determine whether charges will be filed following the completion of the remand period and further examination of evidence.
