Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa underwent an angiogram on Thursday morning as part of her ongoing medical evaluation, Cabinet Spokesperson Dr Nalinda Jayatissa announced at the post-Cabinet media briefing.

The diagnostic procedure was conducted to assess her current health status and screen for any arterial blockages that may require intervention. Dr Jayatissa indicated that the former First Lady's medical condition continues to receive attention from a dedicated medical board overseeing her care.

Following completion of the angiogram, the medical team is expected to analyse the test results in detail. Dr Jayatissa stated that the board would use these findings to formulate an appropriate treatment plan tailored to the former First Lady's specific health needs.

No immediate surgical procedures have been scheduled pending the medical board's assessment of the angiogram results, according to the Cabinet Spokesperson's statement at Thursday's media briefing.
