Kedar Jadhav, who stepped away from international cricket in recent years, has remained active in social and community initiatives. His appearance at a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Vijayadashami festival has now brought him into the spotlight, with images of him in the organisation's traditional uniform circulating widely online.
The former cricketer was photographed holding a danda, or traditional wooden staff, while dressed in the RSS's characteristic khaki uniform during the Dussehra celebrations organised by the outfit. Vijayadashami, observed annually on the tenth day of the Hindu month of Ashwin, marks the triumph of good over evil in Hindu tradition.
Jadhav's involvement in various social activities since retiring from professional cricket is well-documented. However, his visible association with the RSS through the festival participation has generated considerable commentary among cricket enthusiasts and social media users.
The images have reignited broader discussions about the involvement of public figures and sports personalities in political and ideological organisations. While individuals retain the freedom to participate in social and cultural events, the public visibility of such involvement often attracts scrutiny and debate.
