Former India pacer Parvinder Awana named junior selection committee chair

Parvinder Awana, a former Indian pace bowler who earned two T20 caps for the national team, has been appointed chairman of the BCCI's junior cricket selection committee, the board announced. The appointment follows a comprehensive evaluation by the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), which conducted interviews and assessed candidates before making its recommendation.

Awana will lead a selection panel that includes Krishna Das, Rakesh Patel, and N. Arjun Yadav as members. The committee is responsible for identifying and selecting young cricket talent for India's junior representative teams. A fifth position on the committee remains vacant and is expected to be filled shortly, the BCCI said.

The reconstituted committee marks a significant step in the BCCI's ongoing efforts to streamline its talent identification and development pipeline. Junior selection committees play a crucial role in nurturing emerging players and channeling them toward representation at higher levels of competitive cricket.
