Former minister released on bail in Tabung Haji Royal Commission probe
A former government minister has been released on bail by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) following his remand in connection with investigations stemming from the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Tabung Haji.

PUTRAJAYA — The MACC chief commissioner confirmed on Wednesday that the former minister was granted bail after being detained for questioning regarding matters uncovered by the Tabung Haji RCI.
The release came after the former minister completed his remand period, during which investigators questioned him on allegations linked to the pilgrimage fund's governance and management issues highlighted in the commission's findings.
The Royal Commission of Inquiry into Tabung Haji, which concluded its investigations earlier this year, made several recommendations regarding administrative and financial irregularities at the institution. The MACC has since launched follow-up investigations into individuals implicated in the report's findings.
The bail conditions imposed on the former minister remain undisclosed at this stage. Investigations into the matter are continuing as the anti-corruption body pursues leads identified through the RCI proceedings.
The development represents the latest in a series of actions taken by authorities to address governance concerns at Tabung Haji, which manages savings and pilgrimage arrangements for Malaysian Muslims.
