Former naval officer arrested after triple killing in Lucknow dispute

A dispute over a platform and parking space in Lucknow's Saadatganj locality escalated into tragedy on Tuesday when former Merchant Navy officer Rishabh Shukla allegedly opened fire indiscriminately, killing three people.

The deceased have been identified as Shivaji Tiwari, a retired secretariat employee; his brother Shambhu; and Tiwari's son Suyash. Police said the firing occurred following a heated argument between the families over use of the shared platform and parking area.

Lucknow Police Commissioner Tarun Gaba visited the scene following the incident. Authorities have taken Shukla into custody and initiated an investigation into the circumstances leading to the shooting. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.

The incident marks the latest case of firearms being used to settle local disputes in the state. Police said they are examining whether Shukla possessed the weapon legally and investigating any prior conflicts between the families that may have contributed to the escalation.
