KUALA LUMPUR — The ban imposed on 10 former Negeri Sembilan state assemblymen who previously served as executive councillors is limited to the executive council chambers within Wisma Negeri, Malaysia's top legal officer clarified on Friday.

While the former officials are barred from entering these designated rooms, they maintain the right to access other areas of the state administrative headquarters, the Attorney-General's office explained. The clarification addresses concerns about the scope and implementation of restrictions placed on the former executives.

The 10 assemblymen had served in the state executive council before the recent political changes in Negeri Sembilan. The prohibition on accessing the executive council rooms represents a targeted restriction rather than a blanket ban from the entire administrative complex.

The decision reflects ongoing developments in Negeri Sembilan's political landscape, with the Attorney-General's office providing guidance on how such restrictions should be applied to former state officials.
